Health Information Management company to serve national healthcare provider allianceDenver, October 7, 2006 – Care Communications, Inc., a nationally recognized leader in healthcare information management (HIM), today announced at the AHIMA 78th Convention and Exhibit it has signed an agreement with VHA Inc., a national healthcare alliance with more than 2,400 member healthcare organizations nationwide, to provide its full suite of HIM consulting and staffing services to VHA member organizations.
“Health Information Management (HIM) is at the center of significant changes facing healthcare organizations including the transition to the electronic health record (EHR), implementing new Centers for Medicare Services (CMS) changes to the Inpatient Prospective Payment System, and enhancing documentation to ensure optimal coding that results in appropriate reimbursement,” said Hal Walsh, senior vice president for sales and marketing. “Through our new relationship with VHA, we offer our 30 years of HIM expertise to each VHA member organization.”

Care Communications signed a three year agreement and will offer VHA members various services including on-site and remote coding services, coding quality improvement programs, tumor registry services, interim HIM management, HIM consulting, and leadership development and training programs. Leading healthcare organizations consult with Care Communications to ensure appropriate planning, implementation and adoption of their most critical HIM initiatives. It will be one of three vendors providing these services to VHA members.
