Customized ICD-10 Education
The transition to ICD-10 will touch nearly all health care and revenue cycle operations. It requires the efforts of the governing board, leadership, clinicians, revenue cycle departments, IT and those who use coded data.
CARE offers customized onsite and remote educational programs to get your team ready to meet the October 1, 2013 ICD-10 implementation requirement and learn how to leverage implementation to improve the quality of health care, fiscal performance and market share.
Our programs include, but are not limited to:
- The governing board and administration so they can support and leverage the transition to the organization’s advantage.
- Service line leaders so they can help identify the impact and co-lead a successful transition.
- Medical staff so they understand how and where. documentation will be needed to drive improvements in health information, healthcare and the financial health of the organization.
- Coders so they can successfully migrate from ICD-9, a three to five character coding system containing approximately 18,000 codes, to ICD-10 which contains approximately 140,000 codes consisting of three to seven characters.
